So the last game of the season for Radcliffe came with the daunting task of taking on Nottingham Forest Ladies in the Nottinghamshire County Cup Final. Played at Carlton Town on a blistering hot day, the game started off well with Radcliffe setting their stall out early to frustrate Forest. But with a little over 15 minutes on the clock Forest made the break through. Radcliffe had their best chance shortly after when Claire Weeks hit the bar. But Forest found the net twice more before half time to make it a 3-0 score line.

In the second half the Blues made a fight of it having more possession of the ball but rarely threatening the Forest goal. Forest closed out the game with three more goals that meant they retained their County Cup for the third year in a row............... wup-t-doo!!

Managers Comment: - I said to the girls after the game, to forget this one and not to dwell on a defeat. We knew playing Forest would be a difficult task, and with two divisions between the teams that was how it turned out. And their superior fitness certainly showed on a boiling hot day. We've achieved alot this season and would probably be the only team in the county that could keep Forest to single figures. But thats it - season over and I'm happy and proud of everything we've achieved and I'd like to thank all those that have been involved and look forward to the exciting challange ahead.

Singled out: Kate Wilcock- Excellent performance at the back that caught the eye, and rightly awarded the player of the match trophy.
